What to Expect in Sessions

Starting therapy can feel a little intimidating, so I like to make the process as comfortable and clear as possible.

First Session – Getting to Know You:

Our first meeting is an intake assessment where we talk about what brought you here and what you’d like to work on. We’ll cover things like your current symptoms, reasons for starting or returning to therapy, your support system, family and medical history, and your work or educational background. Together, we’ll create an individualized treatment plan tailored to your needs and goals.

Ongoing Sessions – Your Space to Grow:

After the first session, therapy becomes less structured and more client-led. This means you decide what feels most important to explore — whether that’s the past, the present, or something happening right now. This approach is part of my empowerment framework, which helps you feel more in control of your healing and growth.

Guidance When You Need It:

Even though sessions are client-led, you’re never alone. I’m here to guide and support you, offering tools, perspectives, and strategies when you need them. Whether you’re in crisis, working through long-standing challenges, or just figuring things out, I’ll meet you exactly where you are.
